Fallen Officer Memorial Scholarship

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15th as Peace Officer Memorial Day, and the week in which it falls as National Police Week.  Since 1982, a memorial service has been held in Washington D.C. during Police Week to honor fallen law enforcement officer  from across the nation.

In 2021, 563 officers were reported nationally as line of duty deaths.  Over the years, Shelby County law enforcement has had endured the loss of seven of our own officers.  The Fraternal Order of Police Shelby Lodge #84 is honored to offer scholarships to graduating seniors in memory of our fallen brothers and sister.
