***AS OF MARCH 1, 2023, RANGE IS OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS*** An additional 250 tons of dirt was donated to build up the berm around the range. We have cleared brush, mounted permanent new target stands on both pistol and rifle range, and added some movable target stands for your convenience on the pistol range. This was all made possible by generous donations from local businesses and personal donors. Shelby FOP 84 would like to thank the following local sponsors for their generosity: Shelby Materials, New Point Stone Company, Builders Lumber and Hardware, Nate Montgomery Transport, Blueline Outdoor Services, Doug Hunt, Shane Scott, S&S Irrigation, McClure Concrete, Sego Enterprise, LLC, and Zach Buster.
Our shooting range has always been a great place to come out and shoot your favorite weapon from the safe or just break in a new one. We host several events annually on our range from Friends of NRA events, 4-H Shooting Sports, Hunter Education classes, semi-private NRA Pistol Classes, and many more. For more information on training classes, please visit " www.proactivefirearmstraining.com." This site provides a list of classes offered, class descriptions and costs, along with the training calendar for the Shelby County FOP classes. You can also email them at [email protected], or contact at 317-721-6009, for additional questions or information.
We now offer our members the use of TWO ranges. The south range is strictly for handguns and allows for shooting from up to a distance of 25 yards. Updates to this range includes movable target stands with a STATIC shooting line, which is under cover. We also have a new north range that is strictly built for rifles and allows shooting from up to 50 yards. These improvements were made possible by a grant from Friends of the NRA.
The range will also be closed for a few hours on published dates for semi-private classes and special events. These dates are always kept to minimum to allow our members maximum use of the range.
